Taser Pulse, A Compact Personal Protection Gadget That Packs A PunchThe company Taser International launched a new electronic control device (ECD) at the 2016 SHOT Show. The self defense device is made for non-law enforcement use and is named the Pulse. Unlike the existing C2 weapon intended for civilian use, the Pulse is pistol shaped and is a bridge amongst the C2 and the X26 often utilized by police departments.
Taser fashioned the Pulse to become more of an intuitive use gadget since a lot of folks are accustomed to the way a pistol operates. It offers a low profile thumb safety and angled sights to make it a lot more amenable to concealed carry. The replaceable cartridge features a 15 feet range.
Much like the X26, the device possesses a built in red laser for aiming. Additionally, the device utilizes a LED white light for illumination. Based on my experience with the X26 in real deployments, I found the laser performed well.
Similar to the C2, the Pulse is made to deliver a varied electrical pulse over 30 seconds. The idea is this will allow the user to flee the scene in the event the probes are appropriately deployed. This is different from the models purcahased by law enforcement where the pulse duration is much less: 5 seconds.
